G.R.A.C.E. believes that prospective adopters should have a chance to learn about the greyhounds available. See what they look like, ask questions about particular dogs, and ultimately choose a greyhound who will best suit their circumstances and enrich their lives.

We help adopters choose dogs by providing detailed information about each dog and offering suggestions about which dogs would work best in the adopter’s environment.

We do not place a dog in a home without the adopters full involvement in the decision-making process.

All families with children ages 3 through 5 years must have a fenced in yard to adopt. Due to the fact that we cannot conduct in home visits with young children to see the true interaction between the grey and the children we are updating our requirements raising the minimum age to 3.

The crate is still her comfort zone but she is spending more time out of the crate. She really likes laying on toys, especially the giant ducky! Marble can go up and down stairs but will only do it if I take her upstairs. She doesn’t go upstairs on her own. Marble is the sweetest little honey and she is enjoying the company of Gypsy and Jade. |

I had a short racing career (18 Races) at Wheeling in WV and now I am getting ready to learn about home life. Updates: 10/28/2024 It's two weeks since Captains eye surgery. Before he couldn't see well at all, but we have seen a marked improvement. If he was at 1 out of 10, he is now 4 out of 10. He sees most things before bumping into them, walks straight, and is curious about things he would just walk past before. 10/16/2024 I gave Captain a break from the cone and walked him out back, like we have done every day for weeks. Just two days after the eye surgery I think his sight is improving. Instead of wandering all over he was more on point with where we were going. He also pointed his ears straight up and held his head higher. Mostly he looked at things he never looked at before, with curiosity. 10/14/2024 Our foster Captain had his eye surgery today. Everything went well, but he's still very confused. Took the cone off so he couldn't eat and drink, but he doesn't want either yet. |

 | Hi everyone, my name is JK Time Bomb but you can call me Trippy. I had a pretty good racing career (111 Races) at Southland and Wheeling. Now I am getting ready for that next chapter in my life. I’m learning all kinds of retirement things like how not to counter surf, this big house is my home so I don’t soil it, any food I see may not be my food, and best of all, if I ask, I can be petted for as long as I want. A little about me; I am a people lover! Can’t get enough of them. I must be within sight of them at all times. Being petted it the absolute best thing in the world! And you will want to pet me because I am sooooo silky soft. Second comes eating. I haven’t met a food I don’t like. I’ve watched my hound mates and discovered at night I can jump on the people bed and snuggle aaallllll night long. A dream come true. I’ve had to go to the vet several times since I arrived in Michigan, had some intestinal issues that are now cleared up. I didn’t like getting in the car, had to be helped in. And being alone in the car was no fun. There should ALWAYS be a friend with me. Did I tell you I don’t like to be alone? Well, I don’t. When I’m awake I play nice with my hound friends. But when I’m asleep, I startle and grump at whoever has startled me. Sorry! I enjoy playing with toys but am kind of hard on them. I did eat a smaller one once. It made my belly upset and up it came after about a day. So, I guess smaller toys/pieces of toys are not for me. Something I’m embarrassed about is I can be stubborn at times. If I don’t feel like coming when called or get up when asked, I just lay there. If you want me up, pick me up. After all, I am a princess. Will your house be the one I grace? Updates: Otis is a little bit shy, He is a good boy in the house and has not had but 1 accident...my fault for not hearing him whine to go out. He is starting to play with the toys in the doggie toy box. My living room floor looks like a toy mine field. He was uncertain at first about going outside, but now goes in and out like a trooper. He has a healthy appetite and shows no food aggression. He will do well in a home that will allow him to adjust on his terms. He favors women over men and not too sure about kids. I think the kids make a lot of noise and he is not used to that. He is learning and every day he does better. |
