G.R.A.C.E. believes that prospective adopters should have a chance to learn about the greyhounds available. See what they look like, ask questions about particular dogs, and ultimately choose a greyhound who will best suit their circumstances and enrich their lives.

We help adopters choose dogs by providing detailed information about each dog and offering suggestions about which dogs would work best in the adopter’s environment.

We do not place a dog in a home without the adopters full involvement in the decision-making process.

All families with children ages 3 through 5 years must have a fenced in yard to adopt.

 | Hello, my name is Arroyo Syra, but you can call me Syra. I am a super sweet Black greyhound. I had a few races (15 races) at Tri State Track in WV but decided I wanted a couch instead. I did okay, I guess at cat testing...I would do great with a cat who puts me in my place...at least I didn't want to eat the cat! I settled really quick in my temporary foster home...no accidents in the house and slept all night. I have just been placed in my foster home so I can learn the finer points of being a pet. Stay tuned for updates. Update: 12/5/2025 Syra is settling in great to retired life! She is very quick to learn all the new rules that come along with living in a house. She has lots of energy and loves to play with squeaky toys and run around the backyard with her two foster brothers. She is such a sweetheart and loves being around people, although she still hasn't figured out the meaning of personal space 😂 |

He has an independent nature at times but is also very affectionate, often gently leaning against people for pats when they kneel down. Foster Gomez (Hlo's Gomez) from West Virginia (dob 12-28-2022) is a stunning "tuxedo" black & white. Cat & small dog safe. This handsome hunk of a hound is 84 lbs of sweetness - very affectionate & friendly, quiet & gentle. He's perfected the well-known 'greyhound lean!' When he's alert, he has the cutest "button" ears. He's learning to navigate stairs & load into my van fairly well. As a tall fellow, his nose can easily reach kitchen counters, so any "temptations" need to be put away as he does have a good appetite! He is a bit strong on lead but not too bad (I'm a 71 yr old woman) and with a little more work, I anticipate he will be wonderful to walk around town. |
