G.R.A.C.E. believes that prospective adopters should have a chance to learn about the greyhounds available. See what they look like, ask questions about particular dogs, and ultimately choose a greyhound who will best suit their circumstances and enrich their lives.

We help adopters choose dogs by providing detailed information about each dog and offering suggestions about which dogs would work best in the adopter’s environment.

We do not place a dog in a home without the adopters full involvement in the decision-making process.

All families with children ages 3 through 5 years must have a fenced in yard to adopt. Due to the fact that we cannot conduct in home visits with young children to see the true interaction between the grey and the children we are updating our requirements raising the minimum age to 3.

 | I found my brother Spike! What a wonderful surprise after that long trip from Kansas to Michigan. I am such a happy girl. Spike and I run in the yard together (when it isn’t too cold or raining – ugh), we play tag and fake rassle games, snuggle while we nap. This is just the best! I’m a food hog just like Spike, any food I see or smell should be mine. For some reason I get yelled at when I put my feet on the counter to take what is rightfully mine. After all, finders keepers. Spike and I also play with toys together. We see which can completely destroy the toy first. Then we eat them as a celebration of the fun we just had. For some reason, I am made to wear my muzzle in the house most of the time. I’ve been pretty good about not having accidents in the house if my foster parents remember to take me outside often enough. I’m having trouble going out the dog door. After all, I just came from the farm where I only got to go out when I was let out. I have figured out how to come in the dog door on my own. Don’t care for the cold and rain. I like to ride in the car and jump right in. On the way to Michigan, we stopped at a rest area that had a dog run. There was a fluffy little thing in there. It sure looked like a wonderful toy so I tried to get it but I was restrained. Probably a good thing, as I wouldn’t have had the time to properly dismantle it. The cat testing was exciting until I wasn’t allowed to dismantle them. There was a little human at cat testing. He was fun. I gave him kisses and he petted me. Things I am learning in my foster home are to come when called – easy because I get petted, stay when told – that’s hard, keep four feet on the floor – real hard, stay off the furniture – but there’s a blanket that needs chewing on. All the rules! As I learn more, I’ll let you know. |

| Hello, my name is Flower Girl but you can call me Erie. I was previously adopted but because of the failing health of my owners I have made my way to GRACE to find a new forever home. Here are some notes from my foster home: She has been great and settled in nicely since she came to our house on Sunday. We have 2 greyhounds and they have gotten along without issue. I don't know how she would be with other dogs or cats (previous owners son stated he did not think she would do well with cats), young children are unknown as well but my gut feeling is she may not do well. She walks on a leash very well, loves our fenced in back yard (she never had one so is always walking to the door to go out and just walks around slowly :)). She has been sleeping well - we have had her in a crate when we leave the house and at night just until she gets used to the house more and goes in and stays quiet with no issues. She is on Carprofen twice a day for (? arthritis?) She does have times of play and zoomies so it cant be that bad 🙂 Please stay tune for updates as my foster parents get to know me. |
